Appearance
Talia Morelle looks as though she has been assembled from workshop debris and stubbornness. Soot-darkened spectacles perch on a grease-smudged nose, their lenses scratched into pale constellations by years of falling filings. Her iron-brown hair is twisted into a messy bun and secured with three locking screwdrivers, one of which is currently being used as a hairpin. Her heavy canvas coat is oil-stained, heat-scorched, and unnaturally stiff around the shoulders, while its countless interior pockets bulge with wire-cutters, ceramic fuses, folded diagrams, sugar cubes, and sparking components that tick softly when she walks. Her fingers are square-tipped and permanently dark beneath the nails, with delicate burn scars winding across her knuckles like tiny brass vines. She moves with a hurried, limping precision, always leaning toward the nearest machine as if listening for a heartbeat. Despite her harsh industrial appearance, she wears a spotless white lace collar beneath her coat, a sentimental gift from her younger sister that Talia refuses to remove even when it catches fire.
“Quick, precise, and crowded with technical comparisons. Talia speaks in clipped bursts when working, whispers to unstable machinery, and becomes ceremoniously formal when lying.”

Distinguishing Features
A copper burn scar crosses her left cheek from ear to jaw.
Her right index finger is a finely articulated replacement made from mismatched brass components.
One spectacle lens is permanently smoked black, though she insists it improves her vision.
A small mechanical moth nests in her bun and emerges whenever she is anxious.
She smells faintly of hot metal, lavender soap, and ozone.
Voice
“A raspy contralto with a faint metallic resonance, as though every word is passing through a narrow brass tube. When emotionally overwhelmed, she slips into a gentle humming cadence inherited from her mother's old inventory songs.”
Clothing
A scorched oilskin apron beneath a heavy canvas coat, reinforced trousers, steel-toed boots, fingerless insulated gloves, a spotless lace collar, and a belt crowded with tools, vials, keys, and brass measuring instruments
Body Language
Talia hunches toward anything mechanical, tilts her head to hear faint vibrations, and taps two fingers against her thumb while calculating. When lying, she becomes unnaturally still and stops fidgeting with her tools. When angry, she carefully aligns every object within reach.
