Nadya Orzhan
Wizard
Nadya Orzhan
Species
Water Genasi
Appearance
Nadya looks as though she has just climbed out of a river, even in the driest weather. Fine beads of moisture gather along her blue-gray skin and roll down her arms without leaving marks. Her dark hair hangs in thick, rope-like strands that drift a finger's width behind her head when there is no wind, as if submerged. She walks with a forward-leaning, prowling gait, favoring no leg but constantly shifting her weight as though feeling for a current beneath the floor. Her hands are callused from ropes, knives, and staff work, while her fingernails are carefully polished with river clay. The unexpected contradiction is her expression: her body suggests a half-feral marsh predator, but her posture becomes almost prim and fussy whenever anyone touches her spellbook or cooking pot.
“Her voice is low, rough-edged, and quick, with a faint undertone like water passing over stones. She clips sentences short when impatient, but becomes unexpectedly poetic when discussing rivers, weather, or people she misses.”

Distinguishing Features
Her hair drifts as if underwater even in still air.
Water beads on her skin and gathers in the creases of her knuckles.
She wears a brass ferry token on a cord around her wrist and refuses to remove it.
Her left thumb is stained permanently blue from a failed ink-and-water experiment.
She smells faintly of rain, wet stone, and lamp oil.
Voice
“A husky contralto with the sound of rain in a drainpipe, usually clipped and practical, occasionally softened by a low humming note she does not seem aware of”
Clothing
A patched brown travel coat with a high collar, a sleeveless blue wool tunic, wrapped trousers, waterproof boots, and a belt crowded with chalk, cord, fishhooks, waxed pouches, and little stoppered vials of river water. Her spellbook is sealed inside an oilskin case worn under her left arm.
Body Language
She keeps her shoulders low and her chin slightly forward, like a swimmer bracing against a current. Her fingers flex when she is thinking, and drops of water gather between them. When lying, she becomes unusually still and holds her hands flat against her thighs.
