Shesht Pellin
Species
Faerie
Appearance
Shesht is a tiny faerie with a triangular, highly expressive face, tapered ears, and enormous black-green eyes that reflect pinpricks of blue light in darkness. Her movements are quick but not fluttery. She lands with the careful precision of a bird setting down on a wire, then stands perfectly still for several heartbeats before moving again. Her wings resemble translucent moth wings, veined in pearl and bruised violet, with one wing noticeably shorter than the other. This should make her flight awkward, yet she navigates tight spaces with startling grace. Her fingers are nimble and stained at the tips with ink, berry juice, and metal polish. She leaves behind the impression of a candle flame seen through fog, delicate at first, then strangely difficult to forget.
“Soft, breathy, and precise. Shesht speaks quickly when excited, slows to a careful murmur when lying, and drops into a near-song when reciting legal wording or old faerie rhymes.”

Distinguishing Features
One mothlike wing is shorter than the other and bears a stitched silver brace.
A crescent-shaped scar crosses the bridge of her nose, caused by a broken promise charm.
Her shadow occasionally points toward the nearest doorway, regardless of the light.
She wears a tiny iron key through one ear like an earring.
Her left palm bears a faint ink mark that changes shape when someone nearby tells a deliberate lie.
Voice
“A dry, intimate whisper with a musical lilt, like wind moving through grass under a closed window.”
Clothing
A layered coat stitched from leaf-fiber, faded blue silk, and scraps of waxed paper. The coat has many interior pockets for letters, keys, seeds, and stolen seals. She wears a brass thimble as a helmet when expecting danger, despite insisting it is merely practical equipment.
Body Language
She perches on high surfaces instead of sitting at ground level, tilts her head sharply when evaluating a lie, and taps two fingers against her opposite wrist when thinking. Her wings reveal her mood more honestly than her face, folding tight when ashamed and trembling when furious.
