Nabolo Faurious
Artificer, Battle Smith
Nabolo Faurious
Species
Human
Appearance
Nigel is a narrow-shouldered human with long fingers, a slightly stooped posture, and the restless, inward-facing gaze of someone who is always watching an invisible equation unfold. His skin has the warm brown tone of polished walnut, marked by tiny silver burns from failed experiments. His movements are abrupt when he is thinking and strangely graceful when manipulating delicate instruments. He leaves behind the impression of a distracted schoolmaster who might accidentally notice the secrets of the universe. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: scarred, ink-stained, and visibly clumsy with ordinary household objects, yet astonishingly precise with clockwork and spellcraft.
“His voice is soft, nasal, and rapid when explaining an idea, with abrupt stops whenever he realizes someone is watching him. He pronounces technical terms with reverence and people's names with uncertainty, as though afraid of misusing them.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin silver burn runs from his right temple to the corner of his mouth.
His brass spectacles contain lenses that briefly show a star field when he is near an extraplanar creature.
His fingertips are permanently darkened with alchemical soot.
A tiny brass compass is embedded beneath the skin of his left palm and turns toward planar disturbances.
Mosi's shadow occasionally points in a different direction from Nigel's.
Voice
“Soft, quick, and distracted, with a faint rasp from years of inhaling workshop dust. His voice becomes unexpectedly warm when speaking to Mosi and terrifyingly calm when an experiment threatens civilians.”
Clothing
A soot-dark scholar's coat reinforced with hidden leather plates, a high-collared linen shirt, brass spectacles clipped to one ear, tool loops at his belt, and a heavy canvas satchel filled with chalk, wire, lenses, and half-labeled components. His left sleeve is permanently patched with blue thread after an experiment burned away the original fabric.
Body Language
Nigel leans toward machines and away from people. He rubs the bridge of his nose when confused, taps equations against his thigh with two fingers, and freezes completely when someone expresses genuine affection. In combat, his posture becomes unexpectedly upright and economical.
