Ardencia
Noble
Ardencia
Species
Drow Elf
Appearance
On Eberron, Ardencia appears as an unusually large black-and-copper frog with skin like wet obsidian, ridged along the spine as though touched by cooled lava. Her movements are cautious and deliberate rather than skittish, with each hop measured like a courtly step. A thin silver scar crosses one eye, and her throat sac bears a pale mark resembling a crescent eclipse. The contradiction is unsettling: she looks vulnerable enough to fit in two hands, yet watches armed strangers with the exhausted authority of someone accustomed to being obeyed. Under moonlight or across still water, the outline of a tall Sulatar drow woman briefly overlays her frog shape.
“Her true voice is low, precise, and formal, with a dry rasp at the end of important sentences. In frog form, she cannot speak normally, but communicates through croaks, deliberate taps, throat clicks, and magically shaped fragments of reflected sound.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent-shaped eclipse mark on her throat sac in frog form, mirrored by a birthmark at the base of her neck in drow form.
One silver scar crossing her left eye.
A copper neck-ring that is too small to be practical but impossible for her to abandon.
Her reflection sometimes shows her true drow form a heartbeat before the image changes.
Her eyes remain fixed on the speaker with unnerving human intelligence even when the rest of her body is perfectly still.
Voice
“A restrained contralto with the clipped cadence of a ruler giving orders through grief. Even in frog form, her pauses feel deliberate, as though every croak is a sentence she is forcing the world to finish hearing.”
Clothing
Her true drow clothing consists of layered charcoal silk, copper-threaded ceremonial wraps, a high collar of hammered obsidian, and a mantle stitched with tiny red glass beads. In frog form, she wears a miniature copper neck-ring secured around one foreleg, along with a weathered strip of black cloth bearing a fragment of Sulatar script.
Body Language
In frog form, Ardencia keeps her body low and motionless when listening, then makes one precise hop toward the person she considers most honest. When angered, she inflates her throat sac once and freezes. In reflected drow form, she clasps her hands behind her back like a monarch receiving a report, though one thumb repeatedly rubs the old scar on her palm.
