Ruz
Barbarian, Path of the Demon-Bound
Ruz
Species
Tiefling
Appearance
Ruz is a broad, heavy-limbed tiefling whose body looks carved for violence, with thick wrists, a sloping neck, and a stomach marked by old ritual burns. His horns sweep backward like the handles of a butcher's cleaver, but their ivory ridges are polished smooth from years of nervous touching. He moves with startling quiet for someone so massive, placing each foot carefully as if crossing thin ice. His tail rarely stops moving, curling around chair legs, weapon hafts, and the ankles of people he trusts. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: huge, scarred, and capable of crushing a jaw, yet he keeps the nails carefully trimmed and spends long evenings repairing tiny clay votive figures for the cult's orphaned children.
“His voice is low, dry, and deliberate, with a faint Levantine cadence softened by the clipped consonants of miners from Kharad. He speaks more quietly when threatening someone, forcing them to lean closer.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin vertical mouth-like scar runs from his lower lip to the center of his chin.
His left horn is bound with red thread and small copper bells that never ring when he moves.
The palms of both hands bear black, tooth-shaped marks from the ritual.
His shadow sometimes has a second set of horns.
He carries a clay figurine resembling himself as a frightened child.
Voice
“A gravelly baritone with a dry rasp, like stones dragged across a bronze bowl. The demonic undertone is not louder, but it makes certain words feel physically close to the listener.”
Clothing
A sleeveless black wool coat over layered red linen, bound with copper wire instead of buttons. His trousers are patched with pieces of old prayer banners. He wears a cracked iron gorget engraved with the names of the ritual's dead and a belt hung with small clay mouths, each sealed with wax.
Body Language
At rest, Ruz folds his hands over his stomach and keeps his horns angled away from others, a posture almost apologetic for his size. When lying, he becomes unnaturally still. When angry, he smiles faintly and starts tapping two fingers against the flat of his axe. During the first moments of a rage, his shoulders jerk as though someone unseen has seized the strings of his body.
