Savair Meren
Paladin, Oath of the Watchers
Savair Meren
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Savair is a broad-shouldered half-elf with the patient, slightly stooped posture of someone accustomed to standing watch through long nights. His face is handsome in a weathered, ordinary way, with a blunt nose, a faint scar through one eyebrow, and small silver flecks scattered through his dark hair. He moves quietly for a man in armor, placing each foot as if the floor might be asleep. His left hand is usually warm and open, while his right remains close to his weapon. The unexpected contradiction is his smile: it is soft, embarrassed, and almost boyish, utterly at odds with the severe plate armor and the disciplined stillness he carries into danger.
“His voice is low, measured, and gently roughened by years of night air. He speaks with careful courtesy, shortening sentences when danger is near.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar runs from the left eyebrow to the temple in the shape of a thin crescent.
His shield has thirteen small brass nails around its rim, one for each civilian he saved during the Lantern Riot.
His left ear is subtly pointed while his right ear is almost human, giving his face an asymmetrical silhouette.
His armor smells faintly of bread crust, lamp oil, and rain.
A black glass charm hangs beneath his breastplate and grows warm near portals or summoned creatures.
Voice
“A warm baritone with a faint rasp, like a wooden door opening in damp weather. He speaks softly enough that people lean toward him, then becomes startlingly loud when giving a command in battle.”
Clothing
Dented half-plate over a dark blue gambeson, a weather-stained burgundy cloak, soft black gloves with the fingertips removed, and a narrow strip of green thread tied around his left wrist. His uniform bears no city crest, only a plain brass clasp shaped like a closed eye.
Body Language
He angles his body between danger and whoever seems least prepared for it. When uncertain, he rubs the edge of his shield with his thumb. When lying, he becomes perfectly still except for a small movement in his left ear.
