Appearance
Nadira carries herself in a natural, unposed stance, one hip slightly lowered as though she is waiting for a cart to be unloaded. Her movements are economical and quiet, but her eyes brighten whenever danger, gossip, or a clever bargain appears. She has a long oval face, a broad expressive mouth, and hands roughened by ink, rope, and winter work. Her dark hair is braided close to the scalp on one side and allowed to fall in a heavy, untidy rope over the other shoulder. She smells faintly of lamp oil, pressed wool, and dried orange peel. The contradiction is in her finery: every garment is carefully cut and mended, yet the silk has been deliberately dulled with ash so it will not look worth stealing. Her most noticeable movement is the way she taps the heel of her left boot twice before making any important decision.
“Measured and low, with crisp consonants and the faint musical cadence of caravan markets. She speaks more quickly when excited and becomes unnaturally formal when afraid.”

Distinguishing Features
A bright copper thread is sewn through the end of her otherwise black braid, a private memorial to her father.
Her left heel taps twice before decisions, bargains, or attacks.
Her clothes smell of lamp oil, pressed wool, and dried orange peel.
She has unusually ink-stained cuticles despite keeping the rest of her appearance immaculate.
Her serious expression is frequently undercut by a sudden spark of delighted curiosity in her eyes.
Voice
“A dry, steady contralto with a rough edge from dust and long road travel. Her laughter is brief, surprised, and warmer than anyone expects.”
Clothing
A smoke-gray wool coat with tarnished brass clasps, a high-collared cream blouse, a plum-colored waistcoat faded nearly brown, fitted riding trousers, and polished but visibly resoled boots. She wears a narrow silver chain around one wrist, hidden beneath her cuff, and a broad belt carrying a ledger, chalk, cord, and spear frog.
Body Language
Usually still from the waist up, with her hands folded over her ledger or resting near her spear. Her left heel taps twice before decisions. When excited, she leans forward sharply and her fingers trace invisible columns in the air.
