Appearance
Marek Vellory looks like a man carved from polished walnut and winter leather, all long angles and contained force. His face is narrow, with a trader's sharp nose and a mouth that seems made for apologies he does not mean. One eye is a clear river gray, the other clouded with a pale scar across the lid, yet he notices more than most men with both eyes open. He walks with a slight rolling sway from years on wagon boards, as if the road still moves under him even when he stands still. His neat cuffs, ringed fingers, and immaculate gloves are at odds with the dust permanently ground into the seams of his boots. The contradiction makes him memorable, a dressed-up nobleman whose coat always smells faintly of hay, lamp oil, and rain on canvas.
“Measured, elegant, and road-savvy, with the occasional dry joke hidden inside a formal sentence..”
