Appearance
Tall and spare, with the restless elegance of a cathedral bell rope pulled by an anxious hand, Veyra moves as if they are always listening for footsteps behind them. Their skin has the soft slate sheen of rain-polished stone, and under lamplight a faint lattice of silver scar lines glimmers across their throat and forearms like cracked mirror glass. Their left shoulder is wrapped in a velvet mantle stitched with tiny brass charms, while the right side of their coat is plain and travel-worn, as if one half of them still belonged to court and the other to the road. They wear polished boots that are immaculate except for the soles, which are caked with river silt. The unexpected thing is their smile: warm, broad, and almost ridiculous, the kind a baker might wear, which makes the severity of their face even stranger.
