Appearance
Monk appears as a slender, androgynous figure wrapped in a faint halo of dust and incense, as though a temple corridor follows them wherever they go. Their skin has the matte texture of river stones after rain, cool to the eye and subtly luminous at the wrists and temples. They move with exquisite economy, every gesture precise, but their robe hems are frayed and travel-stained, an unexpected contradiction that makes them seem both ascetic and long-suffering. When they are angry, tiny gold bells hidden in their sleeves do not ring, which is somehow more unsettling than if they did. Their face is severe at first glance, yet their mouth is often one breath away from a kindly smile that never fully arrives.
“Low, precise, and unhurried, with the cadence of a teacher reciting a mantra. Monk rarely uses contractions and prefers words that sound weighed and chosen.”

Distinguishing Features
A ring of quiet bells that never sound unless someone breaks a promise near them
Hands marked with thin silver lines like old prayer scars
One eye slightly warmer in color than the other, as if lit from within
A permanent scent of cedar smoke and clean rain
Voice
“Soft, level, and resonant, like a bell heard through thick temple walls”
Clothing
A layered robe of pale ash-gray linen over a sash stitched with tiny prayer knots, paired with soft travel sandals and a lacquered prayer cord worn around one wrist. The garments are simple at a glance, but every hem is repaired with different thread colors from a dozen temples and battlefields.
Body Language
Stillness first, motion second. Monk keeps their hands folded behind their back when thinking, then unfolds them with deliberate precision when they decide to act. Their posture straightens around oathbound or grieving people, and their gaze narrows like a blade drawn only halfway.
