Mekuri Sagan
Species
Tabaxi
Appearance
Mekuri is a broad-shouldered tabaxi with tawny fur striped in dull russet, as if dust has settled permanently into his coat. His body carries many old scars: thin white ladder marks across his ribs, puckered seams around his left shoulder, a crescent cut beneath his chin, and small round scars scattered over his forearms and back. None came from battle. They are the remnants of punishments, accidents, restraints, and desperate attempts to escape a cruel childhood. His left arm is gone from just below the shoulder and replaced by a soot-dark mechanical limb of brass, iron, and lacquered wood. Small springs flex beneath its plates, and the fingers end in blunt gripping pads rather than claws. He moves with a quiet, measured economy, but the mechanical arm occasionally gives a tiny click before he moves, like a second thought made audible. His eyes rarely settle on faces. Within a minute of meeting someone, most people notice him studying door hinges, ceiling beams, hands, and the spaces beneath furniture. The unexpected contradiction is that this scarred, industrial-looking adventurer smells faintly of clean soap and crushed mint.
“Low, dry, and carefully paced. His voice becomes almost gentle when giving instructions to frightened people, while anger makes him quieter rather than louder.”

Distinguishing Features
A soot-dark mechanical left arm with brass joints, visible springs, and a thumb that locks into a small wrench
Numerous childhood scars across his torso, shoulder, ribs, and forearms, with no single dramatic battle wound defining him
A habit of looking at exits, hands, and hinges instead of faces
One ear is permanently nicked along the outer edge from an old restraint buckle
His prosthetic clicks softly whenever he flexes it, creating a recognizable rhythm in quiet rooms
Voice
“A low baritone with a faint mountain rasp, clipped consonants, and a habit of letting silence finish the sentence.”
Clothing
A faded moss-green coat with the sleeves altered for his mechanical arm, layered over a quilted vest, dark trousers reinforced at the knees, soft climbing boots, and a red thread bracelet tied around his remaining wrist. His coat is patched with scraps of canvas from places he has survived.
Body Language
He keeps his torso angled toward exits and rests the mechanical hand palm-down on tables, as though anchoring himself. When angry, he becomes unnaturally still and the fingers of his metal hand close one joint at a time. When amused, one ear swivels toward the speaker while his face remains unreadable.
