Miran Qadri
Fighter, Battle Master
Miran Qadri
Species
Half-Dragon, Red Draconic Ancestry
Appearance
Varek is a tall half-dragon with polished red-and-gold scales, each plate burnished until it catches the furnace light like lacquered metal. His horns curve close to the skull in smooth, swept ridges, and a narrow fringe of dark copper hair is bound behind them with black wire. He wears heavy basalt plate mail whose surfaces are matte and granular, like cooled lava, with gold rivets marking every joint. His broad tower shield is shaped like a closed dragon's wing, layered in black basalt, red iron, and hammered brass. It is far too large for most soldiers, yet Varek carries it one-handed when inspecting the walls. He moves with measured precision, turning his entire armored body before changing direction, and his tail keeps a slow metronomic sweep behind him. The unexpected softness is in his hands, which are carefully wrapped in pale linen beneath his gauntlets to protect old calluses from splitting.
“His voice is low, controlled, and resonant, carrying through furnace noise without becoming loud. He speaks with clipped military precision, but his vowels soften when addressing workers or children.”

Distinguishing Features
A tower shield broad enough to hide a crouching soldier, always carried as though it weighs nothing.
Gold thread repairs run through the dark red command cloak in the same pattern as a city wall map.
His tail taps out a steady three-beat rhythm whenever he is evaluating a threat.
The brass knuckles of his gauntlets are engraved with the names of soldiers lost in Gallery Nine.
His polished scales are immaculate except for a deliberate thumb-sized patch left dull over his heart, a reminder that armor can conceal damage.
Voice
“A deep baritone with the dry resonance of stone chambers and a faint crackle at the edges when emotion rises.”
Clothing
Heavy basalt plate mail beneath a dark red command cloak fastened with a brass clasp shaped like a closed eye. The cloak has been repaired repeatedly with neat gold thread. His gloves and underlayers are clean, pale, and obsessively maintained, a private habit inherited from his shieldwright father.
Body Language
Varek stands squarely, occupying more space than he realizes. His shield angles toward whoever seems most vulnerable, even during conversation. When angry, he becomes almost motionless, while the tip of his tail taps against the floor like a slow hammer. When offering trust, he removes one gauntlet and extends his bare, linen-wrapped hand.
