Vanth
Artificer, Battle Smith
Vanth
Species
Gearforged
Appearance
Vanth is a towering masterwork gearforged chassis cobbled together from mismatched Azimut municipal mechanisms. Polished bronze shoulder housings sit beside heat-blackened iron plates, while delicate copper tubing coils around his throat and ribs like exposed veins. His broad torso contains a glass-faced memory core filled with spinning quartz gears and a soft, pulsing violet data-light. Every movement begins with a minute pause, followed by a precise sequence of clicks, as though his body must approve each gesture before performing it. He leaves behind the scent of hot metal, lavender oil, and rain on old stone. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: despite their heavy industrial construction, they move with the careful delicacy of a conservator handling moth wings.
“His voice is a low, resonant baritone threaded with the click of internal relays. He speaks with measured precision, leaving deliberate pauses before emotionally significant words.”

Distinguishing Features
A glass-faced chest core containing spinning quartz gears and a pulsing violet data-light.
A left forearm stamped with the obsolete seal of Azimut's Department of Public Works.
One bronze shoulder plate bears dozens of tiny names engraved by hand, all belonging to people he failed to rescue.
His right hand has four delicate copper fingers and one massive iron thumb designed for turning industrial valves.
Rook-7's cracked relic lens reflects faces that are not present in the room.
Voice
“A resonant, carefully modulated baritone with distant chimes beneath it, like a cathedral bell heard through several sealed doors.”
Clothing
A sleeveless engineer's coat of ash-gray treated canvas hangs from brass shoulder clasps. It is patched with inspection tags, oil stains, and hand-stitched warnings in three languages. He wears a leather tool harness across his chest, a violet lens hood over one eye, and a long red calibration ribbon tied around his left wrist despite having no need for decoration.
Body Language
Vanth stands perfectly upright when performing his official duties, but his posture subtly collapses whenever relics are discussed. His head tilts in tiny calibrated increments when analyzing a statement. His fingers tap silent numerical sequences against his sternum, and his violet memory light brightens when he is frightened or withholding information.
