Marzovan Kheti
Monk
Marzovan Kheti
Species
Aarakocra
Appearance
A dark-feathered aarakocra leans against the tavern bar as if the ship beneath him were a restless animal he has already learned to soothe. Silver feathers trace the outer edges of his wings in narrow, irregular bands, bright as fish scales under the lanternlight, while three pale crest feathers rise from his brow and bend slightly to the left. His plumage is sleek over the chest and roughened at the shoulders by salt, rope burn, and years of wind. He has a light, almost delicate build, but every movement carries the coiled precision of a striking seabird. His beak is chipped near the tip, his left wing bears a puckered scar, and his talons are stained with blue-black ink. The unexpected softness of his appearance lies in his eyes, which are warm and patient even when his posture suggests he is measuring every exit. Behind him, sailors shout over fiddle music, spilled rum, and the bright laughter of dancers beneath strings of colored glass lamps.
“His voice is low, dry, and unexpectedly melodic, with clipped sailor's phrasing softened by a rolling Caucasus-like cadence. He speaks as though every sentence must survive strong wind, then lets sudden warmth enter when addressing the frightened or grieving.”

Distinguishing Features
Irregular silver bands along both wings and three silver-tipped crest feathers.
A chipped beak and a pale scar crossing the left wing joint.
Blue-black ink stains on his talons from writing coded tide reports.
A tiny brass bell tied to the end of his left sash, muffled with wax except during funerals.
Voice
“A hushed baritone with a rasp like dry rope, carrying clearly through music and surf”
Clothing
A form-fitted charcoal tunic reinforced beneath the ribs with stitched sailcloth, short sea-green leggings, a red sash knotted at the waist, soft deck shoes fitted around his talons, and a weathered salt cloak folded behind the bar. A dagger hangs at his right hip and a scimitar at his left.
Body Language
He balances on the balls of his talons, one shoulder against the bar, wings held half-open to feel changes in air pressure. His head tilts in quick birdlike increments when listening. He touches the silver feathers of his crest whenever he is about to lie.
