Sethra of Dunmere
Courier-Investigator
Sethra of Dunmere
Species
Tiefling
Appearance
Sethra is a dark-skinned tiefling woman with swept-back obsidian horns polished smooth by years of rain, dust, and habitual touching. Her skin has a weathered satin texture on the face and a fine gray roughness across her knuckles and forearms from courier work, cold mornings, and abrasive market grit. Pale green beads are sewn into the cuffs and seams of her sleeves, clicking softly whenever she moves. She walks with a forward-leaning, birdlike efficiency, never quite hurrying yet always arriving before expected. She smells unmistakably of wet leather, crushed mint, lamp oil, and bird feathers, a combination she insists is merely the scent of competence. Her most surprising feature is her smile, which is broad, warm, and almost grandmotherly despite the small fangs and intimidating horns.
“Her words are quick, exact, and lightly amused, but the final word of every sentence drops into a whisper. She can sound intimate without meaning to, causing nervous strangers to lean close.”

Distinguishing Features
Pale green beads sewn into both sleeves, each one clicking like a tiny glass tooth when she moves.
A trained magpie named Clatter that watches strangers with comic suspicion and steals wax seals.
A smell of wet leather, crushed mint, lamp oil, and bird feathers that lingers after she leaves.
Small silver rings threaded through the ridges of her horns, each engraved with a destination rather than a name.
Her voice sinks to a whisper at the end of every sentence, forcing listeners to lean closer.
Voice
“Low, husky, and intimate, with a practiced courier's clarity. Every sentence sinks into a whisper at the end, as though she is placing the final word directly into the listener's ear.”
Clothing
A charcoal courier's coat with many hidden inner pockets, a russet scarf treated with wax against rain, close-fitting trousers, soft-soled boots, and fingerless gloves. Pale green beads are sewn into both sleeves in uneven rows, each bead representing a delivery that changed someone's life.
Body Language
Sethra keeps one shoulder angled toward the nearest exit and taps the pale green beads at her cuffs when calculating risk. She tilts her head toward sounds that others ignore, often holding perfectly still while Clatter fidgets nearby. When lying, she becomes more relaxed rather than more tense, smiling as though she has just remembered a pleasant joke.
