Kaelen Ayrthiarch
Paladin 16, Oath of Conquest; Fighter 4, Battle Master
Kaelen Ayrthiarch
Species
Blue Dragonborn
Appearance
Kaelen is a statuesque blue dragonborn whose scales carry the dark, granular sheen of storm glass, deep cobalt at the shoulders and bruised violet along the ribs. His silver eyes remain unnervingly still when others speak, as though he is measuring the weight of every syllable. His horns sweep backward in short, disciplined arcs, each etched with gold-inlaid commendations that have been polished smooth by decades of gloved fingers. He moves with economical precision, never quite turning his whole body when a slight tilt of the head will do. His immaculate plate armor is blackened until it drinks the chamber's lamplight, while a mantle of heavy white fur hangs from one shoulder. He smells faintly of hot metal, cedar oil, and ozone, an unsettling contradiction to the immaculate austerity of his presentation. The unexpected softness is a narrow strip of blue prayer-cloth wrapped around the haft of his glaive, frayed where his thumb worries it during moments of doubt.
“Kaelen speaks in a low, resonant register that seems to settle over a room like pressure before a storm. He uses short sentences during command and carefully layered questions during inquiry.”

Distinguishing Features
Gold commendations embedded in his horns, worn smooth at the edges from habitual touching.
A white fur mantle that carries the faint scent of cedar oil and rain-soaked stone.
A massive glaive whose haft is wrapped in frayed blue prayer-cloth, visibly worn where his thumb grips it.
A habit of turning his silver eyes toward distant thunder before answering difficult questions.
Fine stormglass dust permanently caught in the seams of his gauntlets, despite his attendants' efforts to clean them.
Voice
“A deep, controlled baritone with a faint rasp like grit dragged across metal. Even when whispering, Kaelen sounds as though he expects a chamber to obey him.”
Clothing
Immaculate blackened plate armor fitted close to the torso, a heavy white fur mantle pinned with a stormglass clasp, dark blue ceremonial sash, reinforced riding boots, and a pair of thin command gloves marked with the sigil of House Ayrthiarch.
Body Language
Kaelen stands with his feet planted as if on a sloped deck during a storm. He rarely gestures broadly. Instead, he taps the butt of his glaive once for disagreement, twice for danger, and three times when he has already made a decision. During moments of private uncertainty, his thumb rubs the frayed blue cloth around the haft until the fabric darkens with oil from his scales.
