Sister Katra Copper-Hand
Cleric, Life Domain
Sister Katra Copper-Hand
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Sister Katra is a compact, sturdy dwarf with the dense, work-hardened build of someone who has carried both patients and machinery through collapsing tunnels. Her dark hair is threaded with silver and pulled into a tight braid bound with numbered copper rings, each ring marking a clinic she has founded or saved. Her skin is warm umber, roughened at the knuckles and faintly freckled with old furnace burns. Gleaming articulated copper-alloy plates cover both hands and continue over her forearms, each joint clicking with precise, almost insectlike grace. She moves with economical purpose, never hurrying yet somehow always arriving first. Her spotless white apron is startling against her soot-stained boots and scarred work clothes. The unexpected contradiction is that her hands look manufactured and formidable, but she touches frightened patients with extraordinary gentleness, as if handling moth wings.
“Her voice is low, dry, and steady, with the clipped rhythm of a forewoman giving instructions during an emergency. She rarely raises it.”

Distinguishing Features
Both hands and forearms are articulated copper-alloy prosthetics with visible tiny gears and locking pins.
A pale burn scar circles her throat like a necklace.
Her left eyebrow is split by a narrow vertical scar.
Copper rings in her braid bear the names of underground clinics.
She leaves behind a faint scent of rosemary, hot metal, and clean rainwater.
Voice
“Low, dry, steady, and almost impossible to provoke into shouting.”
Clothing
A spotless white canvas medical apron over charcoal work trousers, a high-collared wool shirt, reinforced leather boots, a tool belt, a red-brown scarf for filtering smoke, and a copper holy symbol worn beneath the apron. Her pockets contain cooling compresses, herbal salves, clean linen, bone needles, charcoal pencils, and folded clinic maps.
Body Language
Katra plants her boots squarely, keeps her shoulders level, and performs small tests of her copper fingers whenever she is thinking. When angry, she polishes one prosthetic knuckle with a linen cloth. When frightened, she becomes perfectly still and places herself between danger and the nearest patient.
