Appearance
Braskr Dzhaghvil is a compact, broad-shouldered dwarf with the dense, grounded movement of a man who has spent his life walking scaffolds and mine galleries. His beard is dark iron at the roots and rust-red at the tips, combed into two square braids that are tied with ordinary blue thread. He keeps his eyebrows shaved into narrow arches, not for fashion but because loose hair once caught fire during a tunnel collapse. His hands are heavily callused, yet his fingernails are obsessively clean and buffed. He smells faintly of chalk, lamp oil, and mint. At first glance he seems built for violence, but his careful habit of touching every doorway as he passes gives him the air of a respectful guest in the world rather than its owner.
“Low and deliberate, with clipped consonants and a rolling rhythm that becomes unexpectedly gentle when he speaks to children. He pauses before important nouns, as if weighing them in his mouth.”

Distinguishing Features
A white spiral painted on his shield has been repeatedly scrubbed away and repainted.
He touches every stone lintel before walking beneath it.
His beard braids are tied with blue thread salvaged from a childhood blanket.
His boots make almost no sound despite their heavy construction.
He keeps a tiny clay model of a bridge in his breast pocket and rubs it with his thumb when anxious.
Voice
“A low, dry baritone with a mountain accent, usually calm enough to make danger sound like a repair estimate. His laugh is sudden, bright, and embarrassingly youthful.”
Clothing
A faded ochre tunic sits awkwardly beneath a patched chain shirt, while one immaculate blue sash is wrapped around his waist three times. His boots are mismatched but meticulously resoled. He wears a broad iron shield painted with a white spiral, though most of the paint has been worn away except where his hand grips the rim.
Body Language
He stands with his feet angled toward the nearest exit and keeps one thumb hooked behind his shield strap. When listening, he leans closer than expected, almost pressing his ear toward the speaker. When pleased, he rubs chalk between his fingers. When frightened, he becomes perfectly still.
