Dwarf
Appearance
Thraex is a compact dwarf whose stillness feels heavier than most people's motion. His polished bald scalp catches amber torchlight like dark honeyed stone, while his white beard is divided into three narrow braids and tucked beneath his sash rather than displayed. His eyes are calm, dark, and unblinking, yet his attention moves constantly, measuring breath, balance, and the distance between every person in the room. He walks with a slight preference for his left side, not from injury but from decades of training around the Breath Bell, and his bare feet make almost no sound on basalt. He smells faintly of cedar smoke, iron dust, and cold rain, an incongruous scent in the dry Glass-Spire Badlands. The unexpected thing about him is his hands: broad, heavily callused smith's hands that handle prayer beads with the delicacy of a jeweler.
“A low, resonant baritone that carries through stone halls without strain. He speaks slowly, leaves intentional spaces between phrases, and can make a single whispered sentence command more attention than a shouted order.”

Distinguishing Features
His white beard is braided into three thin cords and tucked into his sash.
His scalp is polished smooth enough to reflect nearby torchlight.
He smells of cedar smoke, iron filings, and cold rain.
His bare-footed gait is nearly silent, with a subtle preference for his left side.
His right hand bears a permanent circular callus from years of striking the Breath Bell.
Voice
“Deep, patient, and resonant, with the controlled vibration of a struck bell. When displeased, he lowers his volume until everyone nearby must lean closer.”
Clothing
Weathered grey linen robes, a braided rope belt, soft black footwraps, plain wooden prayer beads, and a narrow sash containing folded diplomatic seals. He carries no visible armor or ornament beyond the iron striker of the Breath Bell.
Body Language
Thraex stands with his weight balanced over the balls of his feet, shoulders lowered, hands loosely folded at his abdomen. He often pauses for several heartbeats before answering. During tense conversations, his thumb moves once across a wooden prayer bead, then stops completely when he has reached a decision.
