Borgrim Stonewrath
Oathspeaker, martial cleric and clan statesman
Borgrim Stonewrath
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Borgrim is a broad, iron-jointed dwarf whose presence seems to make every room smaller. His beard hangs in six thick braids, each bound with blackened copper rings stamped with the names of dead thanes. His skin is ridged and weathered like warm basalt, with pale mineral flecks scattered across his knuckles and cheekbones. He moves slowly when watched, placing each boot with ceremonial care, but in combat he becomes startlingly quick, pivoting with the compact precision of a quarrying crane. His armor is massive and scarred, yet his hands are unexpectedly delicate, with clean nails and the careful touch of a stone-carver. He leaves behind the smell of lamp oil, cold iron, and juniper smoke.
“His voice is low, dry, and resonant, carrying the grinding weight of stone gates closing. He uses short sentences during conflict and longer, carefully layered statements when invoking law or history.”

Distinguishing Features
A vertical scar runs from his left eyebrow to the corner of his mouth, filled with powdered silver that glints when he speaks.
The smallest copper ring in his beard bears his dead brother's name and is never removed.
His left gauntlet is made from the melted clasp of the trading house that caused the Ash-Toll Crisis.
His eyes reflect firelight with a faint amber shimmer caused by years spent near Star-Sand refining furnaces.
He carries a child-sized stone cup and uses it during oath rituals, though no one knows who first gave it to him.
Voice
“A deep, controlled baritone with a rasp like grit dragged across iron. Every sentence sounds measured for weight before being set down.”
Clothing
Unpolished basalt-gray plate over a dark red wool tunic, a broad belt carrying three oath tablets, heavy quarry boots, and a mantle of charcoal felt clasped with an old clan seal. His clothing is austere, but the inner hem of his mantle is embroidered with tiny gold knots commemorating people he has personally saved.
Body Language
Borgrim keeps his shoulders square and his chin slightly lowered, as though facing a strong wind. His hammer rests upright between his boots during negotiations. When angered, he stops blinking and slowly closes one hand around the hammer's grip. Genuine affection appears only in small gestures, a repaired clasp, a refilled cup, a blanket placed over a sleeping guard.
