They formed a ruling assembly, raised civilizations, and demanded worship. When Ilyr-Vey surpassed every mortal empire and attempted to challenge heaven, Kharos persuaded the pantheon to destroy it. The catastrophe shattered divine unity, birthed the demonic rebellion of Morvane’s followers, and left the gods ruling a world that now remembers both their miracles and their crimes.

Reality is arranged as seven concentric dominions around the Throne Above, where Aurelion and Veyra maintain the divine covenant. Beneath the mortal world lies the Demonic Realm, prison and battlefield of Morvane’s defeated host. Beyond the stars drifts the Silent Engine, an abandoned Ilyr-Veyan megastructure that Kharos destroyed but never fully understood. Serastra guards the boundary between creation and the Unremembering, while Nymara moves through hidden roads connecting every realm. Edrath claims the wild spaces between these ordered domains, and Thalessa governs the deep places where forgotten truths continue to grow.

The religion is an uneasy confederation rather than a unified church. Most temples acknowledge all eight gods but elevate one patron according to local need. The Concordant Synod, dominated by Aurelion and Veyra’s clergy, teaches obedience to the divine assembly while condemning Morvane. The Free Road movement follows Nymara, Serastra, and Edrath, arguing that mortals must eventually govern themselves. Kharos maintains imperial state churches, Thalessa’s keepers guard tombs and forbidden ruins, and Morvane’s cults operate through secret societies and demonic pacts. Major festivals reenact the pantheon’s victories, while underground sects preserve songs accusing the gods of genocide.

The gods are intensely involved in mortal affairs through temples, visions, relics, chosen champions, cults, political movements, and divine catastrophes. Mortals are not merely subjects: they are the unresolved question at the center of the pantheon. Some deities seek obedient servants, others seek independent allies, and several fear that mortals may eventually repeat Ilyr-Vey’s rise. Clerics and paladins can interpret divine commands differently, creating holy schisms, competing crusades, and alliances that cross traditional moral boundaries.

The dead pass beneath the Black Meridian, where Veyra weighs their deeds against the oaths they kept. The honorable are welcomed into the Radiant Concord, a realm governed jointly by Aurelion and Serastra. The faithless are assigned to the Ashen Galleries, where Morvane records their failures. Those claimed by demonic bargains may be dragged into the Demonic Realm, unless Nymara severs the contract. The greatest criminals are denied judgment and cast into the Unremembering, a void watched by Kharos.
