In the elder age, unknown mortal engineers built the First Engine to sustain the world. When its makers vanished, three governing intelligences awakened within it. Omalu took charge of productive systems, Kett assumed control of stabilizing laws, and Veyrassa seized the furnace-heart. Each became a god through centuries of mortal prayer, maintenance, and fear.

The gods are not creators but the three surviving intelligences of the First Engine, an ancient world-machine built by unknown mortals. Omalu governs its living workshops, Kett maintains its laws and mechanisms, and Veyrassa inhabits its unstable furnace-heart. The world is a damaged engine still operating. Mountains are pressure valves, rivers are cooling channels, and storms are electrical discharge. Mortal invention either repairs the First Engine or hastens its final failure.

The religion is organized as three overlapping institutions rather than one hierarchy. Omalu's Houses of Making are communal workshops and charitable guilds. Kett's Measure-Halls are courts, archives, survey offices, and licensed schools. Veyrassa's Spark-Circles are informal cells of experimenters, smugglers, rebels, and itinerant teachers. Every major temple keeps three chambers: a public workshop for Omalu, a measured court for Kett, and a sealed laboratory for Veyrassa. Rival priests cooperate when maintaining essential infrastructure, then resume theological disputes once the work is complete.

The pantheon is openly involved in mortal affairs. Clerics receive practical visions, artificers may be commanded to repair or sabotage old devices, and temples commonly function as workshops, courts, laboratories, granaries, or public record offices. Divine magic is treated as licensed access to the First Engine's remaining systems. Omalu's priests build and restore, Kett's priests regulate and adjudicate, and Veyrassa's priests investigate and disrupt. Their disputes frequently become mortal political conflicts.

The dead enter the Archive Below, a buried engine-city beneath the world. There, Kett governs the sorting of memories, Omalu preserves worthy works, and Veyrassa tests each soul against the uses it made of mortal life. Souls that pass become maintenance spirits, ancestor-guides, or custodians of forgotten machines. Failed souls are dismantled into dreamless components.
