The pantheon arose when the first mortal man desired another man and discovered that desire could create both connection and danger. The resulting divine echoes became Arveth, Caulon, Ilyr, Merovan, Othrys, and Veyr, each embodying a different consequence of male love.

Before the world had distance, six male voices spoke across an endless darkness and created the first horizon between them. Arveth called the horizon a promise, Caulon called it a boundary, Ilyr called it an invitation, Merovan called it a shelter, Othrys called it a possession, and Veyr called it a wound. Their disagreement formed the mortal world: a place where men may find one another across separation, but never without risk, secrecy, choice, or change.

The religion has no central church. It is a loose constellation of household shrines, discreet sanctuaries, legal witness-houses, traveling celebrants, secluded contemplative orders, and hidden archives. Most communities honor all six gods while emphasizing one or two. Arveth and Caulon are commonly worshipped in public; Ilyr is celebrated during moments of liberation; Merovan and Veyr are approached privately; Othrys is officially condemned but persists in secret. Clergy are called Keepers of the Horizon and may serve any deity, though each temple interprets the pantheon's conflicts differently.

The gods rarely manifest directly. Their influence appears through dreams, altered memories, inexplicable meetings, inherited vows, and institutions that either shelter or constrain male relationships. Temples are often small and discreet, with Arveth's sanctuaries serving as refuges, Caulon's as legal and ceremonial houses, Ilyr's as public gathering places, Merovan's as isolated retreats, Veyr's as hidden archives, and Othrys's as clandestine circles of control.

The dead enter the Far Quiet, a remote twilight sea divided into six shores. There, souls are drawn toward the deity whose pattern shaped their deepest bonds: Arveth keeps devoted companions together, Caulon preserves chosen memories, Ilyr guides those who loved against expectation, Merovan receives the solitary, Othrys tests possessive hearts, and Veyr carries unresolved longing beyond the horizon. No god grants reunion permanently; even paradise remains distant, visited only through dreams.
