A wrong sequence makes the chapel bell toll once, although no bell is visible, and sends a harmless shiver through the room. After three failed sequences, a loose iron bolt drops free and the party can force the door open with a DC 13 Strength (Athletics) check. The toll may also alert nearby creatures if the GM wants to create a follow-up complication.

For a more challenging version, obscure part of the mural and place a second clue in a damaged prayer book elsewhere in the chapel. Keep the answer recoverable without a check.
