The Amber Tear of Sigrun
The Amber Tear of Sigrun
“Storm the frozen fort, rescue Freya's faithful, and decide whether a sacred miracle is worth the price of its ancient secret.”
— Hook · Rescue
“The bells of the Church of Freya toll without anyone pulling the ropes, and a bloodied woman stumbles through the temple doors. She begs you to storm the Blackpine hill-fort before dawn, because the shrine's attendants have been captured and something beneath the mountain has begun to wake.”
— Hook · Rescue
At the Church of Freya in Sigrun's Crossing, Halla Stonesong lays a bloodstained prayer cord across the altar. The surviving attendant Yrsa describes the attack: masked raiders came during the evening meal, dragged six attendants away, and carried the Amber Tear into the Blackpine. Halla offers warm gear, healing supplies, and a church token that may persuade frightened locals or captured raiders to help the party. She warns that the fort lies several hours away and that dawn will bring an aurora strong enough to complete the enemy's ritual.
Halla Stonesong
The questgiver approaches the party inside the Church of Freya after they witness the bells ringing by themselves. She is exhausted, direct, and willing to spend church resources immediately rather than negotiate with the raiders.

If the party fails, six captives may die, the Church of Freya may lose its most important northern shrine, and the Winter Below may escape to threaten the valley. Even success forces a choice between preserving the church's miraculous healing and ending the ancient pact that made it possible.
Background Lore
For generations, the Church of Freya has maintained the Hearth of Sigrun, a remote shrine built over a spring believed to carry the goddess's blessing into the surrounding valleys. The shrine shelters travelers, blesses marriages, tends the wounded, and protects a small stone reliquary called Freya's Amber Tear. Three nights ago, raiders from the frost-haunted Blackpine captured the shrine's attendants and carried them into an abandoned hill-fort. The church fears the captives will be sacrificed before the next dawn, when a rare aurora is expected to awaken the fort's ancient wards.
The Church of Freya's remote shrine at Sigrun's Spring has been seized by Blackpine raiders. Six attendants, including healers and pilgrims, are being held inside an abandoned hill-fort, while the church's sacred relic, Freya's Amber Tear, has been stolen. The party must reach the fort before dawn, rescue the captives, and stop the raiders from using the relic in a dangerous ritual.
