Features
Adventure-Shaped Output
Hook, scenes, encounters, twists, and rewards arrive in one generation, ready to drop onto the table without extra structuring on your end.
Cast With Motivations
Every NPC carries a role, a dialogue sample, and a reason to be in the scene, so the people in your quest feel intentional instead of decorative.
Counterplay Built In
Per-scene transitions, failure modes, and a complications d6 keep the table moving when the party ignores the plan and goes somewhere unexpected.
FAQ
Does this work for D&D 5e and Pathfinder?
Yes. The default output is system-agnostic and reads cleanly at any 5e or Pathfinder 2E table. You can also tune the game system field to bias encounters and terminology toward a specific ruleset.
What size of quest does it generate?
Anything from a one-shot to a 2-3 session arc. Pick a duration estimate and the number of scenes scales with it, so a one-shot stays tight and a multi-session arc gets room to breathe.
Can I use this inside Session Prep bundles?
Yes. The Quest generator powers the quest-hook recipe inside Session Prep, so any bundle that includes a quest will produce a fully structured adventure with cast, scenes, and rewards alongside the rest of the prep.
How do I tune the difficulty?
Set the difficulty level and party level fields, and encounters will be sized to match. Tuning is a heuristic, not a balance calculator, so review final encounters against your group's actual experience before play.
What is the CharGen Quest Generator?
The CharGen Quest Generator is an AI tool that builds complete fantasy quests for tabletop RPG sessions in under 60 seconds. Each generated quest includes a thematic name, a one to three sentence tagline, a hook and premise, clear objectives, three to six numbered scenes with embedded encounters, two to four named NPCs (questgiver, antagonist, optional ally), one to three twists, a d6 complications table, scaled rewards, and resolution branches for success and failure.
Unlike static adventure tables, every quest links its NPCs, monsters, and locations through the World Codex so a session's politics stay consistent across nights at the table. Quests scale to D&D 5E or Pathfinder 2E party level, include an AI landscape banner of the pivotal scene, export to PDF for the table, and share as public crawlable pages. Free tier covers basic quests; richer multi-act quests and premium AI models unlock on the Plus tier and above.
