Does this work for D&D 5e and Pathfinder?
Yes. The default output is written for D&D 5E, the default game system, and reads cleanly at any 5e or Pathfinder 2E table. You can also tune the game system field to bias encounters and terminology toward a specific ruleset. The Game System menu lists D&D 5E, Daggerheart, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Dungeon World, Mörk Borg, OSR, Pathfinder, Pathfinder 2E, Savage Worlds (SWADE), Shadowdark and Generic Fantasy.
What size of quest does it generate?
Anything from a one-shot to a multi-session arc. Pick a duration estimate (One-shot, 1-2 sessions or 3+ sessions) and the number of scenes is planned around it, so a one-shot stays tight and a multi-session arc gets room to breathe. Each scene shows its estimated duration in minutes.
Can I use this inside Session Prep bundles?
Yes. The Quest generator powers the quest-hook recipe inside Session Prep, so any bundle that includes a quest will produce a fully structured adventure with cast, scenes, and rewards alongside the rest of the prep.
How do I tune the difficulty?
Set the difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard or Deadly) and party level fields (3-5 by default, or type your own, such as 8), and encounters will be sized to match. Tuning is a heuristic, not a balance calculator, so review final encounters against your group's actual experience before play.
Is it a random quest generator?
Yes. Leave the Quick Description empty and the form gives you a fully random adventure on each run. To steer it, pick a Quest Type (Heist, Rescue, Investigation, Escort, Kill / Hunt, Retrieve, Defend, Explore, Diplomatic, Mystery or Other), add a theme such as a fey bargain, or describe the quest in a sentence. Run it again with the same settings for a different quest.
Can I use it for side quests or a quest board?
Yes. Pick One-shot as the duration for a short side quest. Each quest comes with a hook, a questgiver and a list of rumours the party may have heard, so you can pin the hook to your quest board and drop the rumours into a tavern scene. Generate a few one-shots to fill the board with real choices.
Can I share a quest without spoiling it for my players?
Yes. When you share a quest, its public page leaves out the hidden truth and the twists, so players can read the hook and scenes without spoilers. Your own copy keeps both.

The AI writes each generated quest, and each one includes a thematic name, a tagline, a hook and premise with a hidden truth, clear objectives, numbered scenes that take the party through embedded encounters, named NPCs (questgiver, antagonist, optional ally, witness or wildcard), twists, a d6 complications table, scaled rewards, and resolution branches for success and failure.
Unlike static adventure tables, every quest made inside a Session Prep bundle links its NPCs, monsters, and locations to the quest so a session's politics stay consistent across nights at the table. Quests scale to party level from D&D 5E to Pathfinder 2E (or 9 other game systems on the form), include an AI landscape banner of a scene from the quest, export to PDF for the table, and share as public pages that leave out the hidden truth and the twists.
