The Crimson Bell of Akebono
The Crimson Bell of Akebono
“Steal back the bell, break the siege, and decide who truly commands the shogunate.”
— Hook · Military infiltration and fortress assault
“The battle outside Akebono Fortress is already lost unless the Crimson Bell rings before sunset. The enemy has infiltrated the fortress, the shogunate's soldiers are waiting for a command that may never come, and Lady Tomoe needs you to reach the bell tower before the opposing army breaks through. If you fail, the mountain provinces will fall in a single night.”

Rain lashes the military camp beneath Akebono Fortress. Wounded soldiers crowd around smokeless fires while distant drums roll from the enemy lines. Lady Tomoe leads the characters into a command tent where a map is pinned beneath a broken sword. She explains that the Crimson Bell is the army's only reliable command signal, but enemy agents have already entered the fortress. She offers the characters a sealed writ of authority and directs them to Daichi Mori, who knows a forgotten route through the mountains.
Lady Tomoe Kisaragi
Lady Tomoe approaches the party in a rain-soaked command tent shortly before dawn. She treats them as trusted specialists rather than ordinary soldiers, gives them authority to override local officers, and promises that their success will determine whether the army holds the mountain provinces.
