About

Ash Cut Provisioners is a narrow stall assembled from reused ship planks. The air smells of lamp oil, smoked fish, and wet timber, while sacks rustle softly whenever a sea breeze slips through the boards. Eteri is small-boned and athletic, with chestnut hair braided to her waist. She stocks most heavily after noon on auction days, trades cautiously with unfamiliar travelers, and keeps her best grain in plain sight beside the honest measure. Her prices are fair when supply is steady, but climb sharply when grain ships are late. The quality remains ordinary, however high the price.

Eteri keeps the day's coin and personal effects beneath the counter, with the more valuable weights and her carefully wrapped trade ledger behind the grain platform. The stall is narrow, built from creaking reused ship planks, and its open front gives passing market-goers a clear view of anyone lingering too long.

Security check: DC 20Thievery
If they fail: Eteri hears the plank floor creak and calls sharply for help. Two nearby clan hands come running from the market lane while she blocks the narrow stall entrance with a grain scoop. If caught, the party is held for Screech Cove's local authorities and must answer for the attempted theft; word of their actions travels quickly among the crews watching the anchorage.

Market-Day Coin Box2 gp
Kept: Under the counter, behind the visible grain measure.
A modest float of copper and silver coins for change, kept in a small lockbox beneath the counter.
Value: 2 gp, 7 sp, 4 cp
Eteri's Bone Comb5 cp
Kept: Inside a narrow personal pouch tucked behind the hanging sacks.
A practical bone comb with a few worn teeth, wrapped in a strip of faded cloth. It is clearly used, not merchandise.
Brass Measure Weights1 gp
Kept: In a lidded wooden box beneath the grain platform.
A small brass balance weight set used to check the stall's measures. Its metal is worth more than its plain appearance suggests.
Auction and Credit Ledger3 gp
Kept: Wrapped in oilcloth beneath Eteri's stock board at the back of the stall.
A stitched booklet listing grain deliveries, auction purchases, and outstanding debts. Its names and quantities could be useful to a trader, smuggler, or anyone trying to learn which ships have arrived.
Value: 3 gp to a buyer interested in local trade; little as scrap
