The day's coin is kept in a locked box below the counter. More personal valuables are upstairs, while the storeroom holds trade goods and the shop ledger. A bell on the back storeroom latch and the owner's sleeping room above the shop make a quiet theft difficult.

Security check: DC 14Dexterity check with thieves' tools
If they fail: A bell tied to the storeroom latch gives a sharp ring. The owner calls for help from the neighboring night watch, then blocks the front door while the watch arrives. If caught, the party is held for questioning and must make restitution or face the local magistrate.
The whole haul: About 41 gp

Brass Locket2 gp
Kept: Inside a cloth pouch in the owner's upstairs sleeping room.
A worn brass locket containing a faded portrait and a curl of dark hair.

Merchant's Weight Set12 gp
