About

The shop is narrow, warm, and loud with the steady ring of hammer on steel. Its sign is simply a blackened iron plate that gives a low clang whenever the wind catches it. Soot darkens the rafters; weapon racks line one wall, while shields and armor hang above the counter. The place is known locally as the Clang, a name left over from the sign's distinctive noise. Tamsin Rautu is a compact, broad-shouldered dwarf with close-cropped gray hair and burn scars across two knuckles. She speaks plainly, tests every blade's balance before handing it over, and keeps a thumb-sized scrap of iron in her apron pocket for luck.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The valuables are split between the front counter and the work area behind it. The forge and anvil occupy the back half of the shop, where Tamsin is usually within earshot.

Security check: DC 14Dexterity (Stealth) for slipping into the back work area, or Dexterity with thieves' tools to open the cabinet
If they fail: A loose floorboard by the rear counter gives a sharp, familiar creak. If the thief fails the check, owner Tamsin Rautu hears it from the forge and confronts the intruder with a hammer in hand, shouting for the street watch if they do not immediately surrender or flee.
The whole haul: About 41 gp
