(17)A balanced little blade suitable for cutting rope, preparing food, or defending against rats and road thieves.
A stout iron handaxe with a serviceable wooden haft. The edge is practical rather than elegant.
A plain hunting bow made from ash, sold with a leather grip and a small bundle of arrows.
Straight-shafted arrows with iron heads. Most are fletched with common brown or gray feathers.
A padded coat reinforced at the shoulders and ribs. It is warm, noisy, and better than traveling unarmored.
A well-oiled leather jerkin with matching bracers. The stitching is sturdy enough for ordinary adventuring.
A round wooden shield painted with the faded emblem of a local river guild.
A red liquid in a stoppered glass vial, brewed from common herbs and a trace of restorative magic.
A durable canvas pack with leather straps, two side pockets, and a stitched rain flap.
A practical bundle assembled for travelers who need to leave town quickly and cheaply.
Resin-soaked wooden torches tied in bundles of five. The storekeeper guarantees they will burn even in light rain.
A battered tinderbox that has clearly been used often but still sparks reliably.
A compact brass padlock with a stubborn little mechanism and a key on a red cord.
Rough hemp rope sold in tightly coiled lengths, with the ends sealed in wax against fraying.
A stoppered clay flask of lamp oil, useful for lighting, maintenance, or setting a very small fire.
A cheap traveler’s comfort kit assembled by the shopkeeper's sister. Not magical, but surprisingly effective against smoke and stable odors.
A plain doorstop wedge, carried by merchants, caravan guards, and anyone who has learned to distrust dungeon doors.

Shop Atmosphere
“The Brass Thimble General Store occupies a narrow, leaning timber building at the edge of the market square. Its front room smells of lamp oil, dried herbs, leather, and fresh sawdust. Goods hang from every wall: coils of rope, cooking pots, shovels, lanterns, blankets, cheap weapons, and bundles of travel supplies. A handwritten sign above the counter reads, "If It Fits in a Pack, We Probably Have It." The proprietor, Jessa Tallow, is a sharp-eyed human woman in her late fifties with iron-gray hair, a green wool vest, and a brass thimble worn on a cord around her neck. She remembers every customer, every debt, and every item that leaves the premises. Jessa is friendly to honest travelers, suspicious of masked strangers, and willing to offer a modest discount to anyone who helps unload a wagon. Her teenage nephew Pell works the storeroom and pretends not to listen to conversations, though he hears nearly everything. The shop carries ordinary adventuring gear, basic weapons, inexpensive armor, food, tools, and a few potions obtained through trusted caravan merchants. Jessa keeps the best stock out of sight and only reveals it after asking where the customer is headed and whether they know how to use it safely.”
