About

The shop stands on a narrow strip of firm ground where a muddy drainage cut was filled in generations ago. Its low ceiling is hung with drying herbs, and the windows are clouded by glass jars arranged to catch the afternoon light. The place smells of vinegar, mint, and damp earth. Teki, a compact, sharp-eyed halfling with a clipped manner, measures every dose twice and taps each bottle against the counter to check for cracks. The shop is called Siltcut Apothecary, after the muddy channel cleared to make room for its foundations. Most customers get a fair price, but Teki refuses to sell healing draughts on credit and keeps a written tally of every bottle leaving the shelves.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The valuable stock and ledger are kept in a locked cabinet at the back of the shop, behind a curtain to the preparation room. The till is beneath the counter, and Teki works within earshot. A concealed latch opens the cabinet quietly; otherwise its bell gives the theft attempt away.

Security check: DC 14Dexterity (Thieves' Tools)
If they fail: A bell tied beneath the counter rings if the locked stock cabinet is forced or opened without the concealed latch. Teki comes through the curtain from the workroom with a stout walking stick and calls for the neighboring watch patrol. A failed attempt that is noticed brings questioning, a demand to repay any damage, and possible arrest if the party flees or threatens anyone.
The whole haul: About 48 gp

Day's Till21 gp
Kept: Under the front counter, behind a sliding wooden panel.
A leather cash purse holding 18 gp, 34 sp, and 9 cp in mixed takings. It is kept under the counter, out of sight but not locked.
Value: 21 gp, 4 sp, 9 cp
Teki's Brass Locket2 gp
Kept: On a peg beside Teki's apron in the rear workroom.
A small brass locket with a faded pressed flower inside. It has sentimental value to Teki, but would fetch little from a fence.
Silver Dosing Spoon15 gp
Kept: In a locked drawer beneath the preparation bench.
A narrow silver dosing spoon, carefully polished and stamped with an old apothecary's mark. It is genuine silver and can be sold or melted.
Supplier and Credit Ledger10 gp
Kept: In the stock cabinet behind the shelves of empty bottles.
A stitched ledger listing suppliers, regular customers, unpaid tabs, and the quantities of rare herbs received. It could reveal useful names and routes, though selling it openly would attract attention.
Value: 10 gp to an interested buyer; more as information
