Architecture favors cool stone, covered walkways, low windows, incense vents, and carefully maintained memorial walls. A Grimling home commonly includes a remembrance chamber where family names, preserved objects, and accounts of the dead are kept. Their cities are not necessarily joyless, but celebration is often woven together with mourning, and every public square may double as a place of remembrance.

Grimlings share a complicated kinship with infernal-descended peoples. Both are often judged by their appearance, both inherit powers that others find alarming, and both understand the burden of being treated as a symbol before being treated as a person. Their relationship is rarely simple.
