They are fiercely loyal companions who never back down from a fight once they have dug in their heels.

Possessing a low center of gravity and barrel-shaped torsos, Thistle-Hiders resemble upright, humanoid badgers. Their bodies are covered in coarse, dual-layered fur that sheds water and mud with ease. Most exhibit the iconic white and black facial stripes that run from their snouts to the back of their necks, though coloration varies by lineage. Their hands are equipped with thick, non-retractable claws perfect for excavating roots or defending their territory.

Society is organized into 'Clans of the Hearth,' which are centered around communal underground lodges. They value pragmatism, historical oral tradition, and the art of 'root-carving.' Their culture is one of extreme hospitality to invited guests but icy hostility to trespassers.
