The Vulpinae are a hardy and nurturing people of the open plains, blending human grace with the keen senses of the fox. Known for their striking physical presence and deep connection to the cycles of life, they lead lives of intentional growth and community protection.
Physical Description
Vulpinae appear largely human except for two prominent fox-like ears atop their heads and a single, thick, bushy tail. Their biology is uniquely specialized toward maternal health and nurturing. Most notably, adult Vulpinae possess an extremely exaggerated upper torso volume. Their breasts are a defining characteristic of the species, often reaching the size of three large watermelons each. This anatomical trait is supported by a reinforced spine and high core density. Their fur and hair typically range from fiery red to golden amber, often accented with white or black tips.
Society & Culture
Vulpinae culture is centered on the hearth and the expansion of the family line. They are an intentional people who view the act of choosing to become pregnant as a sacred communal celebration. Their societies are largely matriarchal, where status is often measured by one's capacity to provide for and nurture the clan. They celebrate festivals of the harvest and the moon, believing that a full belly and a growing family are the ultimate signs of a prosperous life.
Religion & Alignment
The majority of Vulpinae follow the teachings of the Great Matron, a deity of fertility and the golden sun. They tend toward Neutral Good or True Neutral alignments, prioritizing the safety and well-being of their kin above abstract laws or chaotic impulses.
Homelands & Architecture
Vulpinae live in the wide-open plains. Their architecture consists of low, sturdy dwellings built from sun-dried brick and heavy timber. Most homes feature sunken floors to stay cool in the summer and large, central hearths for communal cooking and nursing during the winter months.
Relationships With Other Peoples
They are generally welcoming to travelers, particularly those who bring news or trade goods from distant lands. They share a close bond with other humanoid groups that respect the land, though they can be fiercely protective if their territory or their young are threatened.
