Greythorne is a roughly circular island, its crowded harbors and inland farms ringed by reefs and ocean currents that punish careless passage. A narrow land bridge at its northeastern edge joins it to a far larger mainland, making it both a refuge and a chokepoint. For generations, port councils kept the island connected through shared beacon towers. Now several towers stand dark, and every community has a different idea of who should pay to relight them.
