Multiclassing

As an Interface subclass, The Dreaming Archive does not alter the Interface's multiclassing prerequisites or proficiencies. Multiclassing into Interface requires Intelligence 13, subject to the campaign's Interface multiclassing rules.

Proficiencies

The Dreaming Archive grants no additional proficiencies beyond the Interface's simple weapons, light armor, tool, language, and technological training. Initiates are trained in memory indexing, predictive modeling, sensory analysis, and the ethics of cognitive interference.

Training & Initiation

An initiate undergoes controlled exposure to contradictory sensory feeds, simulated memories, and predictive failures. Their mentor teaches them to distinguish observation from interpretation before granting access to the protocol's first cognitive archive. The final initiation requires the student to identify which of several mutually incompatible memories is their own without relying on emotional certainty.

Societal Perception

Ordinary people often find Dreaming Archive practitioners unsettling rather than openly dangerous. Friends may wonder whether shared memories are genuine, while authorities fear their ability to evade surveillance and compromise testimony. Some communities seek them out as forensic experts; others ban them from courts, hospitals, and places where consent must be absolute.
