Open the Passage Behind Cerberus
Read Aloud
Blue fire snaps along the obsidian walls as a three-headed hound rises in the chamber’s exact center. Its claws scrape sparks from the black stone, and all three heads lock onto the living. Behind it, a hairline seam appears in the wall, but the hound blocks the only way through.

Hound Ring
The hound stands on a raised black stone disk, 25 feet across; crossing onto it wakes the guardian fully.
2
Blue Torch Wall
Four blue flame torches burn along the walls; each torch sheds bright light for 20 feet and dim light for 20 feet.
3
Three Head Wall
A blank obsidian wall bears three shallow head-shaped stones and the hidden passage seam.
Terrain Levers
- Dousing a torch creates a 15-foot-radius patch of magical darkness until the start of the next round.
- A creature adjacent to the wall can use an action to press one of three head-shaped stones, forcing Cerberus to turn toward that wall until the end of its next turn.
- Breaking a torch releases blue fire in a 10-foot line; creatures in the line make a DC 18 Dexterity save or take 10 (3d6) fire damage.
