Keep the Elven Dead in the Bog
Read Aloud
- Mud sucks at your boots as you break into a battlefield of bones, rust, and rotten reeds. - Goblins are prying at old helms with knife tips while two skeletons jerk up from the black water beside a snapped elven banner. - The dead here were not buried clean, and something in the bog is still angry they were left this way.

Battlefield Zones
1
Mud Flats
Black water, knee-deep in places, with dead reeds and bones under the surface; moving fast costs dearly.
2
Rusted Rise
A low ridge of old shields, helms, and snapped spear shafts; half cover, good sightlines.
3
Banner Grave
A tangle of broken pikes and sunken bodies around a cracked elven banner pole; the deepest mud and the worst footing.
Terrain Levers
- Kick over rusted shields to make a 10-foot slick patch of mud
- Cut loose a rotted deadfall to block a narrow causeway
- Heave a half-buried spear wall upright for cover or a barrier
