Keep the Grain Convoy Moving
Read Aloud
Dust hammers the flat road and tastes like old flour. A convoy of three wagons sits dead in the track, mules stamping, drivers quiet, one man with a ledger and a hand on his knife. Foreman Orsen points at the lead wagon and says, 'Those sacks are short. You can pay, prove it, or watch the grain hit the ditch.'
