Protect the Water Cart at Fifth Cut
Read Aloud
A stone cracks loose above you and skips across the trail. Three figures rise from the red shale, one beside the overturned water cart and two on the shelf above. The shortest one points at the cart and shouts, “Leave the water. Walk away.”

Battlefield Zones
1
Fifth Cut
A 25-foot-wide trail between red cliffs. The party enters here beside an overturned water cart.
2
Upper Shelf
A 25-foot ledge above the trail, scattered with shale and old survey stakes. Ranged attackers begin here.
3
Dry Wash
A narrow 25-foot side wash choked with dry brush. The bandits use it to withdraw.
Terrain Levers
- Cut the rope holding the shale shelf: creatures below attempt a DC 5 Reflex save or take 2d6 bludgeoning damage and fall prone.
- Kick loose the dry brush: a 10-foot square becomes concealed until the end of the next round.
- Shove the abandoned water cart downhill: it rolls 30 feet, forcing creatures in its path to attempt a DC 5 Reflex save or take 2d6 bludgeoning damage.
