Ubume, Lamenting Mother - AI-generated fantasy Monster

Ubume, Lamenting Mother

Whispers in port towns tell of a woman who comes with a baby bundle asking for help. If you refuse she curses you with endless remorse; if you help her she may offer a blessing or a terrible burden. Folklore warns midwives to wrap newborns in a mother's cloth to keep Ubume from mistaking them for her child.

Incorporeal Passage. The Ubume can move through solid objects and occupied space when she is invisible or uses Ethereal Glide. She treats difficult terrain as normal when moving through walls or other solid matter.
Vanish. As a bonus action, the Ubume can become invisible until the end of her next turn or until she attacks or casts a spell. While invisible in this way she can move through solid objects using Ethereal Glide. She can use this feature twice, regaining all uses after a short or long rest.
Emotion Warp. A creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of the Ubume or that ends its turn there must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or feel a surge of intense empathy. On a failed save the creature has disadvantage on saving throws against the Ubume's emotion effects and is slightly more likely to help. Creatures immune to being charmed are unaffected.
Spirit Sustenance. The Ubume does not require air, food, or sleep and cannot be put to sleep by magic.
Spectral Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 () psychic damage and the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be affected by the Ubume's Compassionate Bind until the end of its next turn. While bound the target is charmed and compelled to spend its action on the simplest helpful task possible toward the Ubume or a nearby infant (examples: set down a weapon, offer a cloak, open a door). A creature that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to this Ubume's Compassionate Bind for 24 hours.
Wail of Lament (1/short rest). Each creature of the Ubume's choice within 15 feet that can hear it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be overwhelmed by a surge of sadness and sympathy. On a failure a creature is charmed for 1 minute and has disadvantage on attack rolls against the Ubume. A charmed creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once the Ubume uses this trait, it cannot use it again until it finishes a short or long rest.
Phantasmal Cry. The Ubume reaches into the material world. Ranged Spell Attack: to hit, range 30 ft., one target. Hit: 10 () psychic damage, and the target must make a Wisdom save or be confused as the confusion spell for 1 round. Creature can repeat the save at the end of its turns, ending the effect on a success. The Ubume can use this attack as a bonus action instead of an action by spending one use of Vanish (see Traits).
Drawn Compassion. When a creature within 30 feet attempts to attack an ally, the Ubume can attempt to sway them. The attacker must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on that attack as the memory of a crying child distracts them. Once used this way, the Ubume cannot use this reaction again until the end of its next turn.
Cantrips
Innate MagicEnchantment/Illusion The Ubume can cast these spells innately, requiring no components. Charisma is its spellcasting ability (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks). At will: minor illusion. 1/day each: charm person, silent image.
