It skitters aimlessly through ruins, obsessed with cleaning or organizing objects in ways that make no sense to humans, such as stacking bones by size or polishing cobwebs with oily sludge.

As a construct, it does not eat or sleep. It is often the result of a 'Mending' spell gone wrong or an 'Animate Objects' spell that was never properly dispersed, slowly absorbing local grime until it gains a rudimentary consciousness.

Usually found in damp pantries or kitchens where the grease of a thousand meals provides it with a steady supply of mass.

To keep its designated territory free of 'clutter', which unfortunately includes living adventurers.

Once defeated, the Skitterer collapses into a pile of mundane junk. The remaining oil is incredibly difficult to clean, leaving a stain that smells of burnt onions for weeks.
