Glass Chimer
Rural stories say the creature began as a caretaker that vanished while tending a noble's orchard. Locals call it the Glass Chimer because its arrival is heralded by the delicate chiming of its seed pods. The tale may be fanciful, but the creature reliably appears where fruit trees have been abandoned.

Tactics
Opening
Begin from concealment with Seedstorm if three or more foes are exposed. Otherwise, snare the most mobile target and pull them away from their allies.
Mid-fight
Use Burr Snare on a fast or isolated enemy, then pull that target into reach. Save Seedstorm for when several enemies cluster or when it needs to break through a defensive line.
End of the fight
If badly wounded, it uses Seedstorm to cover its retreat, then climbs to a high perch or escapes through dense growth. It fights to defend its seed stores, not to die.
Retreat
It retreats when reduced to 30 hit points or fewer, unless its seed stores or young are directly threatened. It does not pursue fleeing creatures beyond its territory.

Ecology
A towering, long-limbed creature with a narrow, bark-like torso and a crown of translucent seed pods. Its six jointed legs end in hooked toes, and its face is a smooth wooden mask split by a vertical, wet-looking seam. A faint chime comes from its seed pods whenever it moves.
Behavior
Patient and territorial, it follows trespassers from above before striking. It collects bright objects and leaves them near its nesting hollows, apparently mistaking them for seeds.
How it lives
It feeds on insects, small animals, and minerals drawn from old tree roots. Its seeds rarely germinate far from a mature forest, and its young remain rooted and motionless until their first rainy season.
Lair
Its den is a high hollow or tangled canopy platform lined with shed bark, stolen trinkets, and carefully sorted seeds. The lair is difficult terrain for creatures that cannot climb.
- Habitat
- Old-growth forests, overgrown orchards, and abandoned gardens reclaimed by trees.

What drives it
Protect its seed stores and preserve the quiet territory where its offspring can take root.
After the fight
When slain, the creature's seed sacs rupture over several minutes, scattering sharp seeds that sprout into pale, harmless seedlings unless burned or collected. Its body quickly collapses into a fibrous husk.
