Hollis Reed
Fighter 20, Soul Blade
Hollis Reed
Species
Human
Appearance
Hollis looks younger than his reputation and older than his years. His face is narrow, sun-browned, and usually marked by a faint smear of forge soot that he never notices. His dark hair falls in heavy waves to his jaw, with one white lock above his left ear that appeared during the night the barbarians came. His movements are economical and quiet, like a man carrying a full bucket across uneven ground. He smiles rarely, but when he does it is unexpectedly boyish. The contradiction is in his hands: they are scarred, callused, and built for killing, yet he handles cups, children, and injured animals with astonishing gentleness.
“His voice is low, clear, and carefully measured, with the clipped rhythm of someone accustomed to being obeyed during emergencies. When speaking to frightened people, he softens every consonant.”

Distinguishing Features
A white lock of hair appeared overnight after the barbarian attack
Two soul blades with different personalities and faintly different hums
A thin scar crossing both palms from the dual forging rite
A small iron ring worn on his thumb, belonging to his missing brother
His shadow sometimes shows two blades even when he is unarmed
Voice
“A restrained baritone with a rough edge, like a whetstone drawn across steel. His rare laugh is startlingly bright and much younger than the rest of him.”
Clothing
A charcoal wool shirt, red-brown leather bracers, reinforced riding trousers, and a sleeveless coat patched with pieces of old family banners. He wears a faded blue scarf belonging to his missing older brother. His boots are repaired with mismatched red cord taken from a barbarian standard.
Body Language
Hollis stands with his shoulders slightly forward, as if bracing against weather that no one else can feel. His right hand often rests near one blade while his left thumb rubs the edge of a small iron ring. In combat, his posture opens dramatically, both arms extending in mirrored arcs that make the two blades seem to move before he does.
