Appearance

Ozmett Ferrowhorn is a compact dwarf with the dense, squared build of someone raised among anvils, though his movements are unnervingly smooth and precise. His beard is clipped close along the jaw but left long beneath the chin, where it hangs in narrow iron-gray cords threaded with copper wire. His skin is warm umber with pale mineral freckles across his knuckles and temples. One eye is dark brown, while the other has been replaced by a polished lodestone lens that turns faintly toward nearby metal. He walks with a slight forward lean, as if pulled by an invisible horizon, and loose buckles, nails, and cutlery tremble when he enters a room. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: broad, scarred, and visibly built for smithing, yet he handles delicate glass instruments with the gentleness of a jeweler.

His voice is a low, dry rasp with clipped dwarven consonants. He speaks slowly when explaining a mechanism and very quickly when frightened, then becomes embarrassed and starts over from the beginning.”

Distinguishing Features

A polished lodestone lens replaces his left eye and slowly pivots toward iron.

Copper wires are braided through his beard and hum softly near strong magnetic fields.

A pale, branching scar crosses his chest from the Varkesh gate collapse.

His shadow sometimes shows a second, delayed movement when he uses powerful magic.

Loose metal objects subtly orbit him when he is frightened.

Voice

Low, grainy, and dry, with a faint metallic resonance that becomes audible when he is angry or casting powerful force magic.

Clothing

A soot-blue wool coat reinforced with overlapping copper plates, a sleeveless leather apron covered in chalk marks, thick trousers tucked into iron-capped boots, and a belt carrying glass vials, compass needles, and folded diagrams. His clothing contains almost no loose iron, since he dislikes being surprised by his own magic.

Body Language

Ozmett keeps his elbows close and his hands slightly open, as though feeling currents in the air. When someone lies, nearby metal often rotates toward them because his concentration slips. In battle he becomes almost motionless, with only his lodestone eye and fingertips moving.
