Zorrist Kaskuren
Species
Ibexfolk
Appearance
Zorrist is a rangy ibexfolk woman with charcoal-gray fur that fades to warm russet around her shoulders and forearms. Her horns sweep backward in tight, ridged arcs, each ridge polished by years of absentminded handling. She moves with the deliberate economy of a climber, placing each hoof as if the ground might vanish beneath it, yet when startled she can cross a room in a sudden, almost comic burst of speed. Her coat is meticulously brushed along the neck and neglected everywhere else, leaving the lower tufts rough with dust and burrs. The unexpected detail is her delicate, almost scholarly hands, usually stained with blue ink and smelling faintly of cloves. She gives the impression of a road-worn courier who has somehow wandered out of an archive.
“Her voice is low, dry, and unusually measured, with a faint rasp like paper dragged over stone. She speaks in compact clauses, pauses before names, and becomes almost lyrical when reciting old route-songs.”

Distinguishing Features
Her left horn is wrapped in dozens of tiny copper rings, each engraved with the name of a delivered message.
She keeps one immaculate white stitch in the center of her otherwise patched coat.
Her ink-stained fingers constantly flex as though sorting invisible papers.
Her pupils narrow to horizontal slits when she concentrates, giving her gaze an unnervingly written quality.
She carries a small brass route-marker from every war she has crossed, including wars she officially never entered.
Voice
“Low, dry, and precise, with a faint rasp like paper over stone. Her old route-songs carry a warm, almost mournful cadence that contrasts with her clipped battlefield commands.”
Clothing
She wears a patched slate-blue courier coat cut too short in the sleeves, layered over a quilted leather vest and rust-colored climbing trousers. Every repair is made with blue thread except one careful white stitch at the breast, which she keeps immaculate. Her boots are fitted with iron toe-grips, and her satchel is wrapped in oilskin despite being visibly older than she is.
Body Language
She keeps her torso angled toward the nearest exit and rests two fingers against the strap of her satchel when anxious. Her ears swivel independently toward voices, and her horns often tilt toward whoever she considers most honest. When furious, she becomes unnaturally still, with only one hoof tapping a patient rhythm.
