Kestor
Species
Tectonic Forged, Star-Sand Calibrated
Appearance
Strata-Anchor is built from dense grey basalt fitted with copper-plated iron at the joints, collar, and broad shoulder bulwarks. Their bright golden Star-Sand chest core glows behind a thick lead-glass grate, casting warm bars of light across the floor whenever they move. Fine white mineral dust gathers in the seams of their body after long shifts on the ramparts, while rain leaves dark rivulets down their stone plates. Their jaw is unusually broad and hinged in three visible segments, opening with a careful clack when they speak or eat. When they laugh, which happens rarely, the sound comes out as a deep grinding rumble and their metal teeth flash like old coins. Their immense frame suggests a siege engine, yet they handle small objects with startling delicacy, lifting a wounded soldier's cup as though it were a bird's egg.
“Low, measured, and resonant, with each word carrying a faint metallic aftertone. Kestor speaks as if setting stones into a wall, placing every sentence carefully and leaving no loose edges.”

Distinguishing Features
A golden Star-Sand core glows visibly behind a thick lead-glass chest grate.
The left shoulder bulwark bears a crushed section from the blast-gate rescue, repaired with mismatched copper plates.
Their three-segment jaw opens with a precise mechanical clack before every spoken sentence.
The soles of their feet are engraved with the names of soldiers saved during the gate collapse.
Their shadow sometimes trembles a heartbeat after they stop moving.
Voice
“A deep furnace-note softened by long pauses, like iron cooling in a quiet forge.”
Clothing
A soot-stained redoubt greatcoat hangs from copper shoulder rings, reinforced with leather straps and iron buckles. A faded gate crew sash is wrapped twice around their waist, and their heavy legs are fitted with replaceable traction soles for basalt stairs, ash slopes, and ice-slick ramparts.
Body Language
Strata-Anchor stands with their feet slightly splayed, as if expecting the floor to shift. They turn their whole torso rather than merely their head, and their hands remain open unless danger approaches. In conversation, they lean forward until their chest core lights the other person's face. Before making a difficult decision, they press two fingers to the lead-glass grate and listen to the core.
