Jarumba Slade
Barbarian, Path of Revelry
Jarumba Slade
Species
Water genasi
Appearance
Jarumba Slade is enormous even by genasi standards, a broad-shouldered harbor giant with the heavy, grounded stance of a man who has spent decades bracing against waves. His skin looks like deep blue-green glass beneath a thin film of rain, constantly beaded with droplets that gather at his elbows and drip from his knuckles. His hair floats around his head in slow, underwater curls, yet his thick beard hangs completely dry and stiff as rope. He moves with surprising gentleness until violence begins, when every step becomes a rolling surge and his laughter arrives before his blows. The first impression he leaves is not menace but warmth, like standing beside a sunlit bathhouse during a storm.
“Warm, blunt, and heavily rhythmic. Jarumba speaks in short sentences, hearty declarations, and vivid harbor comparisons.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar circles his throat like a necklace, left by a ship's anchor chain.
His laughter produces a faint echo of distant whale song.
A small brass bell is embedded in the lower rim of his left ear.
His beard remains dry even while the rest of his body is covered in water.
The names sewn into his coat lining are written in three different alphabets.
Voice
“A deep baritone with the resonance of a ship's hull, threaded with the soft rush of surf and occasional undertones like a distant whale call.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo wool coat reinforced with tarred leather, wide harbor trousers, copper-buckled boots, a red sash used for tying cargo, and a battered yellow rain cape. His coat is lined with dozens of stitched names belonging to sailors he has personally pulled from the water.
Body Language
Jarumba plants his feet wide, rests his hands on his hips, and leans forward when listening. He points with his chin rather than his finger. In anger, he becomes very still, and the droplets on his skin begin to orbit him in tiny trembling beads.
